Yankee or Rebel?
as heard on NPR -
Do you speak like a Yankee or a Rebel ?
I thought I'd score more towards the north; I know I don't speak like the archetypal "southerner." But I actually scored "just south of the Mason-Dixon."
Surprisingly accurate.
How'd you do?

I scored 87% dixie. That makes me happy :-)
you?
87%?
I got confused about my answers- to answer the way we were raised, or the way I talk in Mississippi? - I actually scored 66% - just below the Mason Dixon- obviously not where I live now- what did Jon score?
66% as well, actually. And I think it's the way we talk now, although I use different pronunciations of some words depending - eg route.
And I couldn't figure out the cot/caught thing. I pronounce them the same way, but I doubt it's the way they pronounce it in NE like the survey suggested.
Interesting- I had several answers that were common to the great lakes area?
I got a 48%...barely Dixie, bordering on Yankeedom. I did spent most summers in Mass and Maine though, so maybe that's it.
